Trezor, one of the foremost Bitcoin compatible hardware wallet, rolls out exchanging cryptocurrencies from within its wallet. This feature is made available on its beta version at the moment. Trezor informed the cryptocurrency community through a Twitter handle on September 19.
Crypto Exchange From Within The Wallet
Trezor’s latest announcement on the 19th September that its beta server now allows its users to exchange cryptocurrencies directly through the Trezor wallet interface. The tweet informed its users to feel free to test the awesome feature and leave their feedback which will make the company better upgrade its services.
Further, the Trezor wallet new exchange section enables its users to purchase cryptocurrencies from exchanges and also swap desired digital assets in the wallet.
Also, using the newly released feature requires visiting the beta page, which is like the main client page but distinctive with some features yet to be added to the client page. After accessing the beta page, the Trezor hardware wallet can be plugged in to use the new feature of purchasing and exchanging cryptocurrencies through the wallet.
Notably, the feature requires the agreement of a disclaimer from a first time user of the feature. The disclaimer states that all trade made is between the asset owners and the third party trading platform.
The cryptocurrency exchange available on the Trezor platform presently is Changenow, Coinmama, Changelly, Paybis, and Coinswitch. Also, there are 12 cryptocurrencies supported by the platform presently for trading and storage; these are BCH, ZEC, XRP, LTC, BTG, XMR, DASH, DOGE, BTC, ETH, ETC, and XMR.
Furthermore, as revealed by a representative of Trezor, the firm will not be running any form of KYC (know your customer) on the new feature it is introducing. However, the exchanges integrated into the Trezor platform could run the know your customer procedure.
Meanwhile, the feature added by Trezor is not the first of its kind, as Keepkey already adopted the same feature before Trezor. Keepkey, a subsidiary of ShapeShift enables its users to swap cryptocurrencies in the wallet through ShapeShift’s features.
