It is true that only about 9,000 transactions are currently handled by BCH and also that its price has fallen close to that of ETH even with its limited supply, yet with every passing moment, the adoption of BCH continues to increase, and Wikipedia is an example as it now accepts donations in BCH.

BCH Donations

Wikimedia Foundation’s Director of Payments and Operations, Pats Pena, said: “Our donors have shown an increased interest for different cryptocurrencies, so accepting Bitcoin Cash was a natural next step,” he continued, “We accept donations globally, and we strive to provide a large variety of donation options. It’s very important that we can get international donations processed in ways that are efficient and cost-effective.”

A press release disclosed that Wikipedia, the pro-bitcoin global encyclopedia, has switched to BitPay so that “they can now accept Bitcoin Cash.”

BCH Continues To Thrive Despite Challenges

According to the Chief Commercial Officer, Sonny Singh:

“Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are one of the cheapest payment options available, so more money goes to charity rather than paying fees. Wikimedia does so much good around the world that it is a privilege to help them raise money.”

BCH has suffered a great deal due to the bearish market which led to the collapse of its value. Though some turned their backs on BCH, some still believe it is the real bitcoin.

So far, its biggest success is in Venezuela as the currency served as the country’s source of help. This went down in history as one of the most remarkable crypto endorsement for 2018 when the Human Rights Foundation’s Chief Strategy Officer, Alex Gladstein, said bitcoin matters for freedom.

There Is No Stopping BCH

The reality is that tribalism exists in the crypto industry to a certain degree; however, there is a good relationship between good cryptos which means that the success of one makes the rest look good and the failure of one also reflects on the rest.

BCH aims to be used as a currency, but the truth is that for it to happen, a lot of hurdles must be overcome. Such a dream must be upheld no matter the challenges because in BCH is likely to be found the remaining peer-to-peer money enthusiasts.

Possibilities abound in the world of cryptocurrency. Today, merchants are beginning to accept payments in cryptocurrency which was not the case a few years ago. However, a lot more needs to be done so that in time to come, crypto adoption may become complete.
