Vitalik Buterin, Etheruem’s co-founder made a tweet on December 26, stating that Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (SV) is a pure dumpster of fire. This is a coin that was created after the Bitcoin Cash hard fork in November and so far, a lot of controversies has arisen around it.
Crypto Enthusiast Says Ethereum is Like Marxism
Prior to Buterin’s comment, Tuur Demeester, a cryptocurrency enthusiast with over 180,000 followers on Twitter said that Ethereum is similar to Marxism. This is a form of a socioeconomic system that may work efficiently at the moment, but in the long run, it is not sustainable.
Demeester made comparisons between the two major algorithms that cryptocurrencies use. These are Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS). According to the Crypto enthusiast, POW is what works today, but it is just a phase. POS, on the other hand, is the “ideal and unproven future, is to come”.
Buterin Says POW is Finished and There Won’t be Hard Forks
This tweet may have gained the attention of the Ethereum creator as well as Demeester’s followers given that it received over 835 likes within a couple of hours. What followed was a debate between the Enthusiast and Buterin. The latter is of the opinion that POW is what works today and it is also the ideal future that is to come.
Another user seems to be in support of Bitcoin SV and said it is a better project to invest in than Bitcoin. Vitalik also admitted that he has certain disagreements with Bitcoin, yet still, he acknowledges that it’s definitely a “cool technology”. While the co-founder may have applauded Bitcoin and its roadmap, he is however of the opinion, that BSV is a “pure dumpster of fire”
In his own words;
Yeah no, I have my disagreements with the bitcoin roadmap, PoW, etc but they’re trying to do something that’s genuinely cool tech. BSV is a pure dumpster fire.
Craig Wright Advocates for Bitcoin Satoshi Vision
Like the Twitter user, many people are advocating for the Bitcoin SV. One of such persons is Craig Wright an Australian entrepreneur who claims he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the original creator of this virtual currency. Wright believes that BSV is the original Bitcoin and like many others before him, he has been criticized for his opinion.
In other news, Vitalik Buterin on December 20, had donated 1,000 ether tokens to a team of developers who are focused on Ethereum 2.0. This went contrary to the co-founder’s self-acclaimed title, of a non-giver of Ethereum. The donation, however, is to encourage developers and offer financial assistance which they may need in employing other developers.
