TRON’s Scheduled 3.5 Hard Fork Challenges Ethereum’s Constantinople

TRON’s upgrade and hard fork has been scheduled for the last day of the month, and Ethereum’s own aborted Constantinople hard fork might just find itself under TRON’s new shadow.

Under the Shadow of the Sun

Justin Sun, the CEO and loquacious Founder of TRON has not shied away from poking veiled barbs at its more successful competitor Ethereum in recent years, and Ethereum’s own Vitalik Buterin has duly returned the banter of words in what has been an interesting war of words. The cryptocurrency is filled with interesting figures, but only a few can claim to be more interesting TRON’s Asian founder, and now the owner of BitTorrent. Sun has been the subject of excited press reports over the months and his frequent Twitter wars with Vitalik Buterin has been the height of entertainment in the cryptocurrency space.
Lauded for his passionate and aggressive marketing skills as well as his intelligence, the new scheduled hard fork on the TRON blockchain announced by TRON himself on Twitter might pull no surprise if it hogs all limelight from Ethereum’s postponed Constantinople hard fork. TRON’s performance metrics and scalability claims have come under scrutiny a number of times, and Buterin has not failed to point out that TRON is only built on buzzwords and outstanding marketing.
A disgruntled former employee of TRON fuelled the fire by offering the same scanty revelation, accusing TRON of influencing the network’s performance. Whether those claims are true or not, TRON’s new upgrade and the significant increase on previous performance metrics might just blow Buterin out of his incredulity. Not that Sun is concerned anyway, this time the floor is his.

New 3.5 Hard Fork

TRON’s hard fork has been scheduled for Thursday, and the last day in February. According to the official announcement posted by Justin Sun on Twitter, TRON’s blockchain upgrade would include significant changes such as dynamic energy adjustment in real-time and account management which is set to encourage institutional investment. He tweeted:

#TRON will launch 3.5 hard fork upgrade on 2/28. New Features: 1. multi-sig and acct mng, institution ready 2. Dynamic energy adjustment to real-time network performance 3. 50% up performance & res usage 4. Better VM safety, events server for Dapps. Go! #TRX $TRX

Justin Sun also promptly revealed that the new 3.5 upgrade would be a product of the partnership between TRON and BitGo.
