Bitcoin has had a rough year and the same can be said about altcoins whose price it has impacted upon. However, reputable members of the crypto space have made predictions all year round and the month of December has not been left out. Notable among them are Anthony Pompliano, Mike Kayamori, Mike McGlone, Bobby Lee, and Tone Vays.
Anthony Pompliano: BTC Will Go Lower than $3,000
Anthony Pompliano, Morgan Creek Digital Assets founder on December 26, while in an Interview with CNBC, a media outlet predicted that Bitcoin is going lower than $3,000. According to Pompliano, on a short-term basis, “I actually think we have lower to go”. This was when the cryptocurrency was trading around $3,000 at the time of his interview.
The CEO in November had also said that BTC will go lower than $4,000 “very soon” and we can attest to the fact that a month later, this was the case. But then, does history really repeat itself? One can only hope and wait instead of basing their judgment on the fact that the year has come to an end. A lot can happen within 72 hours given the volatile nature of the market.
Mike Kayamori: Bitcoin’s Price Will Surpass $20,000 By 2019’s End
Mike Kayamori, chief executive officer at Quoine like Anthony Pompliano, believes that the downward price trend is far from over. However, Bitcoin will surpass its $20,000 all-time high price by the end of 2019. Even though this prediction is a bit vague, it still gives crypto enthusiasts an idea of what the market may possibly look like next year.
Kayamori made this revelation on December 4th while in an interview with Bloomberg. The CEO also said that a lot of changes can be expected when it comes to the regulation of the industry, number of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), amongst others. Generally, he expects an upward price trend in 2019.
Mike McGlone: A Prediction of a $1,500 Price Tag
Mike McGlone, Bloomberg’s Intelligence Analyst on December 5 predicted that this digital asset is finding its way to $1,500. It’s a few days to go and anything can happen, but is this time enough to see McGlone’s prediction come true? The analyst in a press release had also said that there is little that can be done to prevent Bitcoin from reaching his proposed price tag.
He also attributed the falling rates of the coin to the just concluded Bitcoin Cash Hard Fork in November. In his opinion, the trend Bitcoin has taken is a positive one despite the fact that it is a lower trend. This is because there has been less speculation, less market volatility, and the introduction of more stable coins.
Others like Bobby Lee and Tone Vays have thoroughly analyzed the market and made less vague predictions. Bobby Lee says $2,500 (Jan 2019), $20,000 (late 2020), $333,000 (Dec 2021), and $41,000 (Jan 2023). Tone Vays is of the opinion that we’ll be looking at $5,000 to $6,000, $1,300 to $2,500, and over $100,000 on a short-term, mid-term, and long-term basis respectively.
