South Africans Scammed; Loses 50 Million USD

Not so long ago, news about a twitter cryptocurrency scam has been reported. It is only one of the few cases of cryptocurrency scams that seem to be growing in number recently. The most recent member of the scammers club is BTC Global, having pocketed more than $50 million from victims coming from South Africa, America, Australia and other countries.
As of the last tally, more than 27,500 people have filed complaints against BTC Global, a company launched in September 25, 2017 by popular trader Steven Twain. His initial success in binary options trading was the reason why people trusted the company. But the set-up was instantaneously criticized and labelled as a scam upon its release.
Primarily, users received unpredictable dividends until two weeks ago, when the founder of the company vanished from the online world. Only days after Twain’s disappearance, reports against the company started surfacing and investigations have commenced. South Africa’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha said that Twain’s whereabouts are still unknown, and that there can be little to no progress in the investigation until Twain is found.
Meanwhile, members of the company’s admin team have already received backlash from outraged investors who even went as far as posting their respective home addresses and phone numbers on the internet.
