Tipping is now possible on Coil platform with the newly integrated Ripple TipBot. The announcement of the new development was made by Wietse Wind, one of the XRP programmer on Twitter.
Tipping On Coil
Coil, a platform that gives new ways for content creators to make money is now live with its tipping scheme. Tipping on the Coil platform is made possible with the integration of Ripple tipbot to the platform.
The announcement was made by Wietse Wind, a programmer through his twitter handle. The tweet states “I am very proud to announce the integration of @Coil with @XRPTipBot Congratulations to the @Coil team with their #launch, and special thanks to @sharafian_ and @baltazar223 – Register at http://Coil.com , and Top-up / auto-donate when you visit a donation page.”
Coil enables blogs to monetize their content. The platform was officially launched on the 14th of May but has not been fully functional with its tipping feature.
The final integration of the Ripple tipbot to the platform makes the tipping process live on the platform. Ripple tipbot is a bot that is functional for Reddit users to tip one another via Reddit comment and posts. The same is now functional through the Coil platform.
The Project Coil
The project Coil is a project that aims at solving the problem of micropayment for content management. The vision of the project started with Stefan Thomas, a former CTO of Ripple, after he resigned to pursue the goal of achieving better monetization for blog users and content creators.
Stefan is also the mastermind of the Interledger Protocol. The Coil project has created a partnership with XRP Ripple for its monetization and tipping as the Ripple token would be in use on the platform.
This is a partnership that is set to boost Coil’s image as a new startup partnering with an already established technology. And it will also promote the Ripple network through expanding its reach to the coil platform.
“Coil will use Interledger to make the web a more vibrant market for apps and content, where everyone’s contributions are rewarded,” states the founder, Thomas.
