NEM Unveils New Wallet For Its Users

The NEM blockchain platform and a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency today announced the release of a new cryptocurrency wallet for its XEM cryptocurrencies which is the native token on the platform. The new wallet named the ‘Raccoon Wallet’ will be joining other wallets already developed for XEM such as the NEM NanoWallet and MobileWallet.
In a tweet by the NEM official twitter handle, the group said,

“Here’s another cool Japanese #NEM project — Raccoon Wallet. This wallet has a great UI! ? https://raccoonwallet.com”

The NEM Nano and Mobile wallets until now had been the only option for NEM (XEM) cryptocurrency holders. The NEM wallets served just fine as they are available for all major PC and mobile operating systems out there.
The Raccoon Wallet is currently available for the Andriod mobile devices only while the IOS version is under development. A possibility of having a desktop version in future is not definite at the point as nothing has been said about that yet.
The wallet is born out of the desire to have a wallet which will be extremely easy to use, and until now, different reviews have ranked the wallet tops among cryptocurrency wallets. The wallet also features some other functions like a Mosaic gallery and a face-to-face marketplace for the NEM community.

What NEM and Blockfolio have up their Sleeves

As different communities continue to find new ways to improve on their technology, the NEM team has also been up to something as a recent partnership with Blockfolio shows. At this point, not much is known about what this partnership is all about, but it’s said that President of the NEM foundation, Kristof Van De Rock will be announcing what’s about and weekly progress to the NEW community of Blockfolio real soon.
Blockfolio, on the other hand, is trying to make their platform more user-friendly for their users, adding localization feature which will render the platform in local languages especially to their primary users which are said to come from the Philippines, Japan, and other Asian countries.

Market Performance

NEM is currently ranked 15th according to CoinMarketCap and has been doing well in the past 24hrs with a 16.36% gain which is way more impressive than the first three cryptocurrencies on the market. NEM which had fallen from an ATH of about $2 currently seats at 19 cents.
