Miner Interferes with T-Mobile Frequency, According to FCC

Victor Rosario never imagined that running a small mining rig in his apartment in NYC could get him to receive an FCC notification.
Apparently, the FCC had determined that the interference one of the T-Mobile towers had been facing was coming from his apartment, and with Victor’s help, found that it was coming from an old AntMiner S5 when it was on.
Promptly after the investigation, he received a “NOTIFICATION OF HARMFUL INTERFERENCE” stating that continued operation of that device constitutes a violation of the Federal laws cited and could subject the operator to severe penalties.
Normally, an ASIC mining rig should not emit at the 700 Mhz frequency, the T-Mobile LTE signal frequency. Bitmain, the provider and manufacturer of the said ASIC miner, has not made any comments either referring to this subject.
Victor has been asked to provide the equipment information to the FCC and was forbidden to use it till investigation reaches a conclusion. This kind of news is important because it could lead to ban or registration of these kinds of rigs where emission towers or antennas are being placed to avoid blind spots in coverage. Meanwhile, sadly, Victor won’t be able to mine his bitcoins anymore.
