Johnny Depp Partners With TaTaTu To Produce Content

Johnny Depp has been one of the most iconic and hot personalities of Hollywood in the last ten years. The protagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise has done a lot of good things for the movie industry. After being associated with a possible biopic of the late cryptocurrency millionaire Matthew Mellon, he has now signed a deal to produce content for a cryptocurrency based platform.

Johnny Depp Into Cryptocurrency

After many times having been associated unofficially with cryptocurrency related platform and projects, Johnny Depp at last, in the end, has been associated with a cryptocurrency based platform in a deal that will grant him the freedom to develop and produce content for TataTu, a social and entertainment cryptocurrency based platform.
The deal was announced yesterday, when the founder of TaTaTu, Andrea Iervolino announced that they had scored Johnny Depp for an undisclosed deal of a number of movies exclusively produced for that media platform. Johnny is a well-known actor, so this association could be very profitable for the future of this new media approach.
Johnny had shown interest in starring a biopic of the famous cryptocurrency millionaire Matthew Mellon, a famous crypto investor who died in strange circumstances while battling drug addiction in Mexico.

What Is TaTaTu?

TaTaTu, the company that scored this huge deal, has collected more than $500 million dollars in an ICO launched six months ago. It calls itself the Netflix of blockchain because it lets users watch movies, series and even play games while rewarding the user with cryptocurrency.
Every time a users sees a movie or plays a game in the TaTaTu environment, the user gets its wallet funded in the form of TaTatu tokens. These tokens can also be used to trade them for real money in a cryptocurrency exchange and to fund other operations inside the platform. Users can also be rewarded by their own posts and pictures.

Crypto Celebrities Common Now

Gone are the days in that anyone being associated with cryptocurrencies in one way or another was considered a crazy man or a scammer. Cryptocurrencies are invading pop culture and this kind of deals show it.
With this move, Johnny Depp engrosses the ranks of the actors and celebrities that now deal with this kind of currency endorsement. But Jhonny is making it after the ICO being completed. Many have associated with scammy ICO’s or just plain stupid businesses, like DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather, that are being accused of fraud perpetrated by promoting CENTRA’s ICO, a cryptocurrency whose ICO was suspended by the SEC. And even Steven Seagal is in that list.
There is a tough job ahead for celebrities to not fall under fraudulent ICOs, unlike Seagal that supported a startup called Bitcoiin, and abandoned it sometime later.
