Since Bitcoin gained recognition and made the cryptocurrency market relevant as it is today, there have been all kinds of predictions about its price by analysts, investors, and enthusiasts. And it is approached by each one in different ways. Some study the market and its movements to try to make an accurate prediction, but for others, it is just a fun experience to throw some numbers and see how it develops from then. But, there are others so sure of their predictions that use themselves (and their body parts) as collateral for it.
Meet John McAfee, a controversial person, but also an important one with a whole history of achievement. He founded the software company McAfee Associates in 1987 and ran it until 1994. He created McAfee, the first commercial antivirus software, and the business now produces a range of enterprise security software. But after this, he dabbled with the cryptocurrency subject and became an advisor for several startup companies in this world.
It all started with a tweet carrying a bold prognostication. He stated that, according to his models, bitcoin would cost 1 million dollars at the end of 2020. The tweet is shown below.
When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017. BTC has accelerated much faster than my model assumptions. I now predict Bircoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong. pic.twitter.com/WVx3E71nyD

The particular thing about this prediction is the penitence offered if it does not gets fulfilled. He declared that if bitcoin fails to deliver, he will eat his penis. A wild statement, but it shows that he is pretty secure in his prediction and of bitcoin relevance in the future. Much has been said about this, but the truth is that with the latest gains of the market, it looks like the price prediction is back on track. This site presents a real-time updated view of McAfee’s prediction, and today bitcoin price has crossed lines with the hypothetical price needed for prediction to be correct.
The red line shows the predicted growth that bitcoin needs to have to cost one million dollars at the end of 2022 (half percent daily till that day). So, as wacky as that prediction sounds, today seems possible and could save McAfee a raw and uncomfortable lunch.
