John McAfee to Run Presidential Campaign in Exile After Being Charged by IRS

John McAfee, the founder of McAfee Associates on January 22, announced on Twitter that he will be running his presidential campaign in exile while fleeing from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). According to the British-American programmer, the IRS convened a grand jury in Tennessee to charge him for “Unspecified IRS crimes” that are of a felonious nature.

Programmer Advocates for Cryptocurrency

John McAfee who is reputably known for his antivirus software recently went live on Twitter. The developer said for the past two years, he has been advocating that cryptocurrencies will someday compete with governments. However, there will come a time where these digital assets will stop governments from imposing income taxes on people due to their massive adoption. When that happens in his opinion, these currencies and governments will be at war.
The 73-year-old goes on to say that for the for the past 8 years, he has not paid taxes. In the same vein, he has never filed returns to the IRS, which is not secret. According to him, he has outrightly told the IRS year-in year-out that he will not make returns and they can as well fine him.

John McAfee to Run for the Office of the U.S. President

John McAfee in June 2018 made his intentions known that he will be running for the office of the U.S. president in 2020. While this may have been taken with levity, more comments made in the video confirms the latter to be true. Here, the developer said the IRS has charged him, his wife, and four of his campaign workers for “unspecified crimes that are of a felonious nature”. Therefore, his presidential campaign will be carried out in exile.
In the developer’s own words:

The McAfee 2020 Campaign is, as of this day, in exile. I am being charged with using Crypto Cuttencies in criminal acts against the U. S. Government. More videos coming shortly. Stay tuned.

McAfee Takes a Joy Ride to Venezuela

As promised, more videos were unleashed and in one of the videos, McAfee revealed that he is taking a joy ride on a boat which will disembark in Venezuela. This has, however, made crypto enthusiasts as well as other members of the public to wonder how long he can avoid the authorities and also handle his campaign from a boat.
To answer these questions, McAfee made another video stating that masks of his face will be created by his supporters. These masks will be worn by thousands of volunteers who will be divided into two groups. The first group will have to stand by the roadside while his voice echoes through loudspeakers. The second group will wear the masks to represent him in conferences for keynotes and debates during the campaign.
