Fine Jewelry and Luxury store, Birks Group, is now claiming their spot as the very first luxury retailer to accept bitcoin payment in Canada as the company decides to promote their luxuries through using cryptos.

Avail Jewelries Using Crypto

According to their statement, Birks Group partnered with BitPay as their official crypto partner in introducing bitcoin payment to their customers in their stores all over Canada. Although very interesting for the company to accept digital assets, this service is only available to 8 of their stores in Canada including Vancouver West Hastings, Brinkhaus Calgary, Fairview Mall, Bloor, Yorkdale, Montreal and Calgary. Once the service succeeds, Birks Group will expand this soon in their stores in Patek Philippe and Graff.

As furthered, their clients are now able to pay and avail some of their most well-known jewelries such as Breitling, Rolex, Bulgari, and Cartier using either bitcoin cash (BCH) or bitcoin core (BTC).

“As an internationally growing brand, we believe that Bitpay will benefit our customers as we look to align ourselves with these innovative capabilities that are on the forefront of technology,” said Jean-Christophe Bédos, the Chief Executive Officer of Birks Group.

Over 100 years, Birks Group served world-class jewelries and luxuries in Canada which they now wanted to be expanded as they targets other countries using the medium of crypto as their payment. As stated by BitPay’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sonny Singh, the purpose of Birks Group to promote their products internationally can now become achievable through using the service of crypto which is convenient to most people nowadays.

“Accepting bitcoin helps Birks Group cater to their high-end international clients and get new customers while providing an innovative and safe payment option,” Singh further noted during the announcement.

Jewelry For Crypto Sale

Obviously, Birks Group was not the first jewelry store to accept bitcoin or crypto payment over the past years. As a matter of fact, some of its competitors all over the world already introduced this kind of payment and responses were all positive. Some of these stores are Bond Street-level jeweler Samer Halimeh NY — the well-known luxury diamond retailer, headquartered in Knightsbridge that started accepting crypto payments in September, this year. The other one is Marks Jewelers which jewelries can be availed using seven digital currencies.

Whether for daily needs or luxurious items, cryptocurrency are becoming a trend for most businesses. Although the market seems to be away from its target recently, businesses choosing crypto and relying on them is continuously spreading all over the world. What does this say, now?
