09/02/2018: SelfieGO

While cryptocurrencies and blockchain have been taken in by many serious enterprises, and some people are convinced that they are all about businesses and such, there is also another face of blockchain and cryptocurrencies that people need to know, and that is the social face. To popularize cryptocurrencies, some people think that they must be mixed in every social action that we do daily. And that is the goal of the ICO that we handpicked as the ICO of the week: SelfieGO.
SelfieGO aims to be the next social blockchain based decentralized platform, much like Facebook is today, but with a special focus on connecting people while presenting them in a pseudo-real Augmented Reality world. Being decentralized would give them the edge over centralized, rule enforcing communities like Facebook, that resolved to ban cryptocurrency advertising from their platform earlier this year.
With SelfieGO, content creators should be able to advertise without any of these problems that a centralized platform presents. In SelfieGO, as its name suggests, the emphasis of discovery is made on the different selfies that each user uploads and presents on their network to make friends. Users will be able to vote the best selfies on the platform, and the best selfies will be more discoverable than others, allowing to make friends easier.
The documents show that the main source of the funds raised by the ICO will be used to acquire certain important users for the platform, to make the platform more desirable, like notable and famous people. While it could seem frivolous, the real thing is that social networks live and die by their users, and at the start is important to have certain influencers to attract important quantities of people to the emerging platform.
The people in charge of this ICo are employees and founder of a Russian Mobile gaming enterprise called Elyland, and they have already proven their worth by delivering various games for IOS and also for Android platforms. The platform will have also a marketplace embedded where businesses can have their virtual stores and also users can purchase items or real things from inside the Social Network, that will feature its own cryptocurrency.
