John McAfee, the founder of McAfee, is throwing up a hack challenge to all, to hack Bitfi, a device for storing cryptocurrencies, and get paid $100k. The announcement for this contest was made through his Twitter handle. The challenge reads as follows,
“For all you naysayers who claim that ‘nothing is unhackable’ & who don’t believe that my Bitfi wallet is truly the world’s first unhackable device, a $100,000 bounty goes to anyone who can hack it. Money talks, bullshit walks. Details on“.
According to the developer, John McAfee, it is unhackable, which makes it worthy of a cryptocurrency wallet. The high-level security of the wallet will be tested through a competition as announced by the developer, and the winner will get a whopping sum of $100,000.
The official rule for participating in the ‘hack the Bitfi’ competition is on The rule requires all participants to obtain a wallet each, which will serve as a marketing strategy for the developer. The cost of the standard wallet is $120, and the wallet must be preloaded with coins, which adds $50 to the final price. Other requirements to participate is following the rules and sharing the updates of the hacking process with the public so that the crypto community will not be trying the same methods on their own.
The successful hack can only be completed after extracting the coins, and the wallet is emptied. The first participant to achieve retrieving and emptying the wallet according to the guidelines will win the $100k from John McAfee.
‘Hack the unhackable’ is a challenge that is putting the Bitfi wallet to test and also driving attraction and market for the wallet. If the wallet as claimed by John McAfee is unhackable, it will attract a massive market from the community, and if it eventually got hacked, a lot of members of cryptocurrency community would have invested in the wallet, and a ‘Mr hacker’ of the Unhackable would emerge.
