In recent years, a lot of celebrities have invested in cryptocurrency. Many of these public figures have come forward to state that the future of currency rests on cryptocurrency. It is possible that these individuals already have Bitcoin worth millions of dollars to their name.

In the early days of the crypto era, only developers, engineers and entrepreneurs seemed to have an interest in digital assets, but today things have changed significantly.

Today a number of public figures have shown support for cryptocurrency, and this will possibly encourage more people to come on board the crypto-train. In this piece, we shall be looking at some of these celebrities.

Snoop Dogg announced that he would be accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment for his soon to be launched album in 2013, even before the public became caught up in the Bitcoin wave.

The US music legend set the price of the album at 0.3 BTC in 2013 and though there is no known record as to how many albums he sold, going with his fame and reputation we can say it must have been substantial.

The Coin Shark reported that Snoop Dogg was seen at an XRP Community Night crypto party. If an estimate is to be made on the price his album sold for, taking today’s Bitcoin value as a basis, then his album sold for $1,000 each.

Mike Tyson

When Bitcoin celebrities are mentioned, Mike Tyson’s name cannot be omitted because he is one of those who understood its potential early enough.

Not only did Tyson invest in Bitcoin, but he also produced branded Bitcoin ATMs that has his face tattoo.

The Boxing legend went on to work with Bitcoin Direct which saw to the creation of a Bitcoin wallet with matching branding as the ATM.

In 2015, he launched a Bitcoin ATM system as reported by Engadget, which is a Bitcoin-operated virtual wallet.

At various times on social media, Messi has shown his support for Sirin Labs. The Argentine and Barcelona football star was awarded brand ambassador for Sirin Labs, an Israeli company, in late 2017.

Sirin Labs is working to produce the first crypto smartphone the world has ever seen, and the star is backing it, according to his Instagram post.

A report that came at the end of last year that the phone is currently available and is loaded with features which crypto users will find most useful.

Mel B was a member of The Spice Girls, a British pop group. According to Kryptomoney, the singing sensation accepted to be paid with Bitcoin for her 2014 Christmas single in collaboration with CloudHashing.

CloudHashing is a reputable company in the crypto industry which offers Bitcoin-mining contracts. While announcing her decision to receive payment in Bitcoin, Mel B said: “I love how new technology makes our lives easier, and to me that’s exciting.” She continued, “Bitcoin unites my fans around the world using one currency.”

Madonna, who is often referred to as the Queen of Pop, has aligned with Ripple. She has been an active campaigner for digital currencies, stating that the use of cryptocurrency is both secure and easy for payment purposes.

In 2018, Madonna collaborated with Ripple and Facebook to raise funds online for her Raising Malawi foundation.

Madonna praised Ripple for its involvement in her cause which she described as a “generous commitment.”

Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In September 2017, the World heavyweight boxer began promoting Centra’s scheduled ICO.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has for some time been seen promoting various ICOs such as Hubii Network, Centra, and Stox.

Johnny Depp, a popular actor, has also joined the crypto train. Over the years the public image of the actor has been one of the unusual spending habits, yet that didn’t stop him from investing in cryptocurrency.

Depp partnered with TaTaTu, a blockchain startup, last autumn. According to reports, the platform uses tokens as an incentive to reward its users anytime they interact with contents like games and films.
