Freelancing Site Upwork Reports Blockchain Is The Fastest Growing Work Sector This Year

Blockchain, the tech that drives the decentralization that enables cryptocurrencies to work as they do, has penetrated the workspace in several key industries. That is why there is an unwavering demand of people that know how blockchain works and also knows how to program blockchain related applications. All of this was confirmed by the info that the freelancing site Upwork has released today, that states that the fastest growing work area for freelancers in this platform was blockchain, being the most hired line of work in the whole site.
Upwork is one of the most important freelancing communities in all the internet; formerly known as e-lance, it has posted more than three million jobs online annually and those jobs have earned their users community more than a billion dollars in earnings. That is why it is so important for them to confirm with their statistics something that we already knew: that blockchain is the hottest tech in the business today and that the demand for blockchain related skills is booming this year.
The report also mentions that the growth of blockchain demand in the working sector for this year has almost quadrupled the demand that this line of work experienced in the last year. Actually, the second fastest growing work sector is also related to blockchain and decentralized technologies, as Google Cloud is. The report also states that established businesses and startups are more and more keen on using freelancers because they often have the desired skill set to do determined jobs.
But, even if blockchain has picked up as one of the most booming work sectors in all the industry, the educational sector has been slow to pick up the pace to produce more blockchain specialists and capacitate them for these jobs. While some universities have opened some courses that teach blockchain, the lack of universities offering blockchain courses is now more alarming considering the work demand that is experiencing right now.
