Fernando Alonso Adopts KodakCoin Platform for Image Rights Management

Popular formula one racing driver and two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso, has confirmed that he is moving his entire digital library to the KODAKCoin image rights management platform. This move to adopt blockchain based image protection platform will make him one of the first sportspersons to think in this direction.
On June 28th, the F1 Driver reached an agreement with WENN Digital, the authorized licensee of Eastman Kodak Company which is the creator and operator of the KODAKOne platform and its tokens. WENN digital Inc. is expected to protect the Spaniard’s images and videos (both personal and professional) with the help of the KODAKCoin image rights management platform. According to a press release, Alonso stated that:
“We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC.”
Fernando Alonso, who is often regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers in the history of the sport could not hide his excitement about the agreement, “I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform.”
The 36 year old driver, who happens to be winner of the just concluded 24 Hour Le Mans race is happy that the agreement will give his fan base the opportunity to access the potential KODAKOne platform. The launch will enable them to upload, register and protect the photos and videos files of their most loved F1 driver. The fans will also get rewarded for doing so in some instances.
The CEO of WENN Digital, Jan Denecke said that “We are honored that Fernando Alonso is working with WENN Digital and will be using the KODAKOne Platform to secure his global image rights,” The German expressed his excitement and he added that
“Fernando is a world-renowned athlete, and his trust in our platform further validates what we stand for. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner to work with as we roll out our KODAKOne Platform.”
WENN Digital’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Benedikt Dohnanyi said that “At a time when pictures can be uploaded and shared across the internet within seconds, the KODAKOne Platform will serve as a valuable resource for those in the public eye.” The CCO is also confident in the capabilities of the KODAKCoin image protection platform.
Dohnanyi insisted that celebrities and rights holders will have a new sense of control over their own IP with a secure mechanism, where they can register, protect and monetize their image rights. These celebrities can also engage with their fans at the same time. “We will share additional details and more exciting partnerships in the near future,” he added.
