“The Dark Overlord” Hacker Demand For Bitcoin

A group of hackers known as “The dark overlord,” that claimed to be in possession of about 18000 confidential classified and secret document that was obtained subversively from government agencies such as FBI and TSA is demanding payment in Bitcoin not to reveal the classified documents they have obtained over time. Part of the classified document according to the group of hackers is the acclaimed truth about the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York, USA.
Notably, since the event which is nearing two decades after its occurrence, various narratives have trailed the discussion of what took place on the day. Such narrative has attempted to see the attack as an internal orchestration of the US government. Also, some engage the discussion stating the government is covering up the truth of the build-up and the personalities behind the malicious attack.
To prove the genuineness of the cause of the group of hackers they have released a 10GB encrypted file that is available for download ahead of releasing the encrypted key to unlock the file.
The terrorist group is not requesting for the payment of the ransom from any particular individual or organization but is requesting any individual interested in the document to meet the demand, which could be terrorist groups, enemies of the U.S. and anyone who may be named in the documents.
The hacker group noted in one of its threat letter that “Pay the fuck up, or we’re going to bury you with this. If you continue to fail us, we’ll escalate these releases by releasing the keys.”

Vulnerability Of Bitcoin Use For Ransom

The demand for Bitcoin for payment is on the increased use by scammers and hackers. This is increasing despite the known vulnerability of the digital currency to tracking and non-secretive feature in comparison to some secret oriented Cryptocurrency such as Monero among others.
