Opera Ltd., the giant tech company behind the famous opera browser with almost 400 million users, has released a new service in their mobile Apps to allow their users buy cryptocurrencies in less than a minute on opera browsers.
Opera, quite unmistakable for its unique user interface and stand-out red design continues to show dogged initiatives to provide solutions for its customers and users within their fingertips. Its browser is famed and loved for its user-friendliness, and since ditching its own native proton backend technology for the more efficient ‘chromium,’ it continues to roll out new solutions for the ease-of-use of its users.
After launching the highly successful ‘Opera News’ on the app’s native landing page—which is fast becoming a brand of its own, by the way—the giant tech company is on the verge of another new milestone as it strives to jump ahead of its competitors on a fast-evolving sector of the technological space. While Google has been surprisingly coy and distancing itself from subjects regarding cryptocurrencies, Opera’s new initiative is probably set to be a major cog in the push for the mass adoption of digital currencies all over the world. Starting from the Scandinavian Peninsula first.
Miracles Happen First in Scandinavia
Opera’s new service which has been officially rolled out on their mobile app, Opera for Android, is set to be only available in Sweden, Denmark, and its native country, Norway, for the main time. The service is being launched first in these three countries due to a local partnership that Opera has with another cryptocurrency company: Sweden’s online cryptocurrency brokerage, Safello. The service which is already available in the aforementioned Scandinavian countries allows users to buy and trade cryptocurrencies via a digital wallet that have already been integrated with the mobile app and Safello. Charles Hamel, the Product Lead for Crypto at Opera talked about the influence of the new initiative on the push for adoption of digital currencies.
“We think that the next important phase for crypto will come from usage and that for it to reach wider adoption, it has to be easy to buy and easy to use,” he said.
“We believe that the browser will be the entry point for these use cases. Thanks to our partnership with Safello, we are taking one more step towards this vision.”
Frank Schuil, CEO of Safello, has expressed his excitement concerning the new partnership, as he sees initiative bringing the world of cryptocurrency to the ‘fingertips’ of both new and experienced users.
