Competition Looms, As Wikipedia Rival Everipedia Goes Live

Everipedia is now up and running, though new, already boasts over 6 millions articles. The monstrous rise of Everipedia is not surprising, due to its exceptional team behind the project who are working round the clock to achieve a historic feat, especially Larry Sanger, who happens to be a Co-founder of Wikipedia, serving as the Chief Information Officer of the new enterprise.

A Historical Feat

Wikipedia has remained relatively unchallenged, and it’s the undisputed champion in the industry, until the arrival of Everipedia. Everipedia has already written its name in the history book, as the first decentralized internet encyclopedia based on blockchain technology. The site is also expected to be largely uncensored and out of the reach of any centralized authority.

A Better Alternative

The features and the properties of the site are pretty bold and robust. The team revealed recently that, it would be free from advertisements and promotions, and due to its decentralized nature, it will be the perfect avenue for truth seekers.
The site will satisfy the curiosity of users who want information that is censored in some countries or regions.
While Wikipedia enjoins editors to contribute to the platform voluntarily, Everipedia plans to reward its contributors. The reward will be in IQ tokens – native token on the Everipedia platform – which will allow holders have a say in the voting process in the organization and also be stakeholders if desired.
Being decentralized means it’s not controlled through central servers, and thus, it’s not tied to a group of people. The basis of the organization is the decentralization feature, which attracted top-notch executives, including Larry Sanger. Larry said he was disturbed when he realized that Wikipedia was in the hands of some people, a situation which doesn’t seem right.
He reiterated his commitment to Everipedia and vowed that he would help create an organization that will be decentralized and is free from a centrally controlled arm.
Though not of the same category, Steemit also falls under platforms earn for contents shared. And as people find more use case for blockchain, we are expecting to see more decentralized platforms which will allow users to voice their thoughts without being threatened or detained by authorities.
