CoinMarketCap Turns Five; Launches Mobile App

The price listing leader website CoinMarketCap is celebrating its five year anniversary today, and it is commemorating this achievement with a small redesign of its site and the launch of a mobile app for checking prices on the go.
According to their blog post on the Medium site, they are redesigning their website and featuring a new logo to enhance the web experience of their users. The old interface of the website had grown a little old in the tooth, and it is a good thing that they had decided to update it. They also have added a new feature: the watchlist, a used-curated list of important cryptocurrencies to monitor on the same website.
The new CoinMarketcap app is available today for IOS devices. It features a native look for those who want to be on the go and still desire to be informed, but prefer a more streamlined experience than just using the website. Sadly, the app only offers a different interface of the website info and nothing more. But the people from CoinMarketCap states that they will add more functions in the near future. They have also revamped its API for other websites that use their data.
CoinMarketCap has been highly criticised due to omitting certain big exchanges of their listings, and according to some, for showing incomplete statistics about the cryptocurrency market. They have also a sense of humor: the last Aprils Fool’s day they decided to list cryptocurrency prices in Lamborghinis, as we reported here.
But nevertheless, they are the number one pricing list for cryptocurrencies, being the number one statistic resource that many traders use daily guide themselves. They have the 174th website spot globally according to Amazon’s Alexa. They have grown enormously since the December rise of the cryptocurrency market and they are now a reference. Congratulations on their fifth anniversary.
