Brave browser hits 4 million users. The information on the new achievement is revealed through the tweet shared by Brendan Eich, the founder of Brave.
Brendan Eich’s New Announcement
The co-founder of Mozilla Firefox that also dubs as the founder of the first cryptocurrency backed browser, Brendan Rich recently tweeted about this. Brendan Eich tweet states:
“Latest @Brave stats: 4M users (MAU), 21K verified channels, 26K publisher accounts.
We will step on gas w/ brave-core + BAT on mobile this fall, get past 5M easily by EOY, >= 12M next, adding BAT ad deals to token grants, making good on the promise of @attentiontoken economics.”
Brave browser reached a milestone of 3 million users in July, with 18,000 verified publishers accepting BAT, 4,500 of which were websites and 13,500 YouTubers.
In a little over a month, the browser has reached 4 million users. This time with 21 thousand verified channel and 26 thousand publisher accounts.
The growth it has experienced in such a short period is an outstanding one. Way beyond the analysis from the Brave team, Google play store records the browser has been downloaded over 10 million times.
Brendan Eich noted in his tweet that the browser is expected to garner 5 million users before the end of the year and expectedly 12 million users by next year.
Although the browser is fast growing because of its exceptional features, it is still far behind prominent browsers such as Mozilla with two billion users and internet explorer with over 100 million users.
Brave Browser Goals and Blockchain Browser
The Brave browser is a focused privacy browser that gives users a chance to earn from ad viewership and blocks cookies and other trackers of web users.
The browser has an inbuilt cryptocurrency wallet, in which users can manage their earnings of BAT cryptocurrency and users can use it to pay publishers, and also get rewarded for seeing ads. It rewards users for seeing selected ads through the application.
Meanwhile, Brave’s transformative goal to the Chromium features as its interface is expected to be implemented soon.
Opera Browser also seeks to join the cryptocurrency industry so as not to miss out of its opportunities. The team plans to implement a cryptocurrency wallet within the browser as well. This is being aided by the Bitmain investment of $50 million in its IPO.
