The Moscow government has made plans to launch an “IT-platform of the innovation cluster of Moscow”, before Spring. The platform will focus on Blockchain Technology and its members will be able to relate with others in the industry. Also, cluster members can receive financial support from the government, according to a media report on February 12.
IT Platform to Focus on Blockchain Technology
Per the report, the government intends to launch an IT platform that will center around Blockchain Technology. The scheduled time for its launch is before the end of Spring. According to Alexei Fursin, head of the department of entrepreneurship and innovative development of Moscow who spoke to the media, there will be a competition to establish the center.
In addition, the budget for its creation is currently being defined, even though the focus is not on the budget, but the technical task that will be required.
Fursin also said:
We base our IT platform already on the resource that exists in the city and showed its relevance – iMoscow. Now this platform will be finalized, we hope it will be launched before the end of spring.
IT Platform to Build Relationships Among People
More light into the proposed platform reveals that the center will help to build relationships among people and gain financial support from the government. In the case of the former, the report outlines that cluster members can register, find potential partners, and also gain knowledge about the products offered by other people.
On the other hand, members will be able to receive grants as financial support from the government. The media also informed that the bill for The Innovation Cluster was recently approved by the members of the Presidium of the Moscow Government. There are also expectations that the bill will also be introduced later on, in the Moscow City Duma.
Russia Adopts Blockchain Technology
Russia has been actively involved with the use of Blockchain of late. As BTCNN informed on November 23, the country had made plans to use Blockchain in discovering the talent in kids. Specifically, the target was on children with developmental disabilities. The country at that time pointed out that the use of theoretical methods as a test for kids did not discover their potentials to the fullest.
On November 14, it was also reported that Raiffeisen Bank International, a bank in the region had issued an international bank guarantee using the Distributed Ledger Technology. The bank had partnered with three other organizations to effect the transaction, noting that the Blockchain is fast and brings about transparency.
