Blockchain Adoption Is Lagging, Gartner Study Finds

An important survey found that while everyone thinks that blockchain is a very relevant tech for the future and its applications are endless, the number of enterprises and businesses that are committed to implementing or developing solutions that use blockchain are very few.
The survey was made by the industry on research and counseling leader Gartner, and the study did find some troublesome numbers for the blockchain future in the coming years. The study shows that more on the 77% of the surveyed business has no interest in implementing or using any kind of blockchain deriver solution in the near future. More so, only 8% of the surveyed enterprises declared that it has a blockchain implementation solution already in the works. This goes to show that the blockchain tech implementation in the industry is still in its early stages.
Also, the study found that for most information officers, blockchain skills are very difficult to find. This means that blockchain careers and educational courses should be in high demand in the next years to make this skills highly popular and available for most IT degrees. Some universities are already giving blockchain courses, introducing blockchain in their IT careers. It is safe to assume that in coming times the need for these abilities will spike up.
The next reveal was less interesting and spectacular: of all the businesses surveyed, the sectors that were most invested and declared that blockchain is a vital part of their functioning scheme were the financial sector and the insurance companies. We all know that cryptocurrencies are the number one implementation of blockchain technologies, and services, trading and investment options derived from them are also included in the financial sector. other sectors like transport and services lag behind.
So, summarizing, blockchain could be the best tech not being implemented in the whole of all history, while being massively overhyped. The whole report of the survey can be found here.
