John McAfee is reputably known for his antivirus software and being on the run from the IRS while on a presidential campaign. In 2017, the cryptocurrency enthusiast predicted that bitcoin would hit $1 million by the end of 2020. However, the data provided by Dick.info reveals that bitcoin’s price of $3,848 is 89.91% below McAfee’s prediction.
McAfee is on the Run From the Law
McAfee is known for a lot of things including disagreeing with the government when it comes to taxes. The programmer is also notable for his bullish prediction about bitcoin. On July 17, 2017, when the digital asset closed at $2,244.27, McAfee forecasted that by 2020’s end, one bitcoin would be worth $500,000.
However, towards the end of November 2017 when the bitcoin’s price began to skyrocket, McAfee changed the price he had earlier stated. According to him, his first prediction was based on a model that by 2017’s end, one bitcoin will be worth $5,000. But then, bitcoin has exceeded his expectation, and as such, the new price he sees the digital asset is $1 million by 2020’s end.
Website’s Data Shows Bitcoin is Undervalued Based on Prediction
While many are skeptical if this achievable, a website from Coindesk has been dedicated to monitor bitcoin’s price and see how it correlates with the McAfee’s prediction. The website is dickline.info, and it keeps track of the percentage loss in real-time. As at press time, the platform showed that bitcoin is undervalued by over 89 percent. It will also take a daily and yearly growth of 0.48% and 482.81% respectively, to reach $1 million by 2020.
McAfee, on the other hand, has pointed out that he was misquoted by media outlets. According to him:
Dec. 31, 2020, is not an exact date.” “Let’s all be clear again: I predicted Bitcoin would reach $1,000,000 before the end of 2020. That is not saying it will hit that price on that date
Nevertheless, whether it is before New Year’s Eve or on the exact day, we’ll like to see if this prediction will come true or the Politician will “eat his d*ck on TV” as he stated on Twitter.
McAfee Sets Campaign Slogan as “Don’t Vote for Me”
BTCNN on January 31 also informed of McAfee’s slogan for the 2020 U.S. Presidential elections as “Don’t Vote McAfee.” The crypto enthusiast on his campaign website has outlined that his focus is to free people from the power of the government. He also wants to educate them about cryptocurrency which he believes will set them free from the government’s bondage.
Asides McAfee, Tim Draper’s bitcoin price prediction is also being monitored. The venture capitalist on April 13, 2018, predicted that by 2022, one bitcoin would be equivalent to $250,000. Dick.info has also outlined that bitcoin is 74% below Draper’s prediction. The virtual asset will also have to grow at a daily rate of over 0.2% to reach that target price.
