Swiss-based Dolder Grand Hotel Now Accepts Bitcoin Payments

It is quite surprising that there are people who still believe that cryptocurrency is merely a hype that will fizzle out with time. However, the adoption and recognition the crypto industry is garnering everyday suggests that it is more than just hype, and one thing anyone can take to the bank is that it has come to stay.

One of those who didn’t fancy Bitcoin when it was initially introduced is a hotel located in Switzerland and goes by the name: Dolder Grand hotel. Today, all that is in the past as the hotel has opened its doors to Bitcoin. By so doing, guests will now be able to pay their bills by using Bitcoin.

The switch was welcomed by the hotel management, which is working closely with a Swiss company called Inacta AG. This is undoubtedly one of the remarkable innovations in the hospitality industry in recent times. The hotel announced this development via its Twitter handle which reads:

“We are very proud to have taken a step towards accepting crypto currency. The Dolder Grand is the very first luxury hotel in Switzerland where guests can pay with Bitcoin.”

A Rare Opportunity for Bitcoin Holders

The new method of payment is powered by an app called Inapay. With this app, merchants can easily accept cryptocurrencies and then convert them into either Euro or Swiss franc once the transaction has been made complete. The instant conversion provided by the app also helps to shield dealers from fluctuations in the fall of crypto prices. Besides that, the app provides customers with another payments option.

The switch is part of the collaboration currently ongoing between Dolder and Inacta and will be made available starting from May 1. If the project proves to be successful, it will be made available to other interested merchants all over the country.

“Got @bitcoin? Well you’re in luck, because we’re now accepting cryptocurrency payments through our partner.”

There Is No Going Back; Bitcoin Is Here To Stay

Speaking on the advanced project, André Meier, the Director of Finance at Dolder Hotel AG had this to say: “Many of the improvements in our service in recent years were made possible by advances in technology. As we believe Bitcoin is here to stay; it only seems natural to offer more choices in the payment process.”

He went ahead to say that the reason for the upgrade was primarily for the well-being of guests, for them to be able to make payments through any of the available payment options that afford them comfort.
