Binance Lays The Groundwork For Institutional Investment

Binance is now reportedly developing new strategies and carrying out concrete actions to attract institutions. They expect the cryptocurrency asset class to grow immensely in the near future. This is evidenced in their latest medium post, where they explain how and what they are doing to prepare themselves for this challenge.

Binance and Institutional Investment

Binance Lays The Groundwork for Institutional Investment

Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO

Binance has been a great exchange and an industry beacon for the whole cryptocurrency space. Carried with the self-imposed task of improving the view on cryptocurrency, it has done pretty well. Since the fall on Mt. Gox, institutions see exchanges as the soft and careless side of the story when talking about investing.
But Binance identified this flaw very early. Now they are starting to tackle cryptocurrency as an asset class for institutional investors. Institutional money is indeed coming to the cryptocurrency space, and they want to be prepared.
But not only that. They want to be a pioneer in institutional grade support for key investors, and they offer insight into this in their latest medium article.

Binance Offering For Institutional Investors

Binance wants to be the first contact of the institutional investor with the cryptocurrency asset class, and for this, they have set up quite interesting offers.
First, they have presented a discount program for high volume traders. This program is based on the amount of BNB tokens held in an account. Also, they have implemented maker and taker discounts that should make the difference for high order, high volume investors.

But this is not the most important take on this. Binance opened recently a research division with the purpose of investigating all that happens inside the cryptocurrency space. Their objective is to produce “institutional-grade research reports on blockchain projects, with an eye on increasing transparency and improving the overall quality of information available within the cryptocurrency space.”
The recognition of high margin institutional accounts, with withdrawal limits of even 100 BTC daily is also very important. These accounts will be available to institutional investors that fill the requirements. After being verified, the institutional investor will enjoy this advantage.

What Lies In The Future

Binance has also a set of improvements planned for the near future in regards to institutional investors. they have set up a roadmap that will include 200 sub-accounts supported, account and trading activity overview for sub-accounts,  No-fee transfers of funds between sub-accounts, and full control of sub-accounts.
It is clear that the race for catching institutional investment has started, and no exchange wants to be the last.
