The cryptocurrency space has seen wariness from the developed countries of the world in endorsing cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Top countries such as China have seen the ban of cryptocurrency in the country due to what can be described as the phobia of the inherent weaknesses of cryptocurrency.
When a giant country like China is hiding from heading the cause of cryptocurrency in the world, Malta has chosen to be the leader in spearheading cryptocurrency adoption. This has been expressed in the country turning to a hub for cryptocurrency startups and exchanges.
The country has created a conducive environment for the cryptocurrency industry and the blockchain tech. Most of the cryptocurrency startups and exchanges that left China due to the country’s zero tolerance for cryptocurrency have found a haven in Malta.
Malta’s Government Effort
The attention cryptocurrency has got today cannot but be attributed to the effort of the Government in Malta, and most especially, its Prime Minister, being a visionary leader that has strategically placed the country as a trailblazer in the cryptocurrency space.
Joseph Muscat the prime minister of Malta as referenced by Binance in a tweet, while praising Malta for being welcoming to cryptocurrency and blockchain businesses to the country.
The tweet reads;
Malta is the first country ever to have a Prime Minister tweet welcoming a #blockchain business to the country. That deserves a round of applause for #Malta. – @cz_binance on The Future of #Crypto at #DELTASummit https://t.co/FMtr5g37mh
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat has been spearheading the cause of cryptocurrency and blockchain in the world. This he openly declared at the recently held 77th UN session in New York recently. In his address, he stated that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is the future of the financial and the technology world.
The Binance exchange tweet attracted responses from members of the cryptocurrency community, with a Twitter user saying: “One small island will lead the world to Blockchain.”
